With the help of
family, Jim Jerram opened his boutique winery on a ten acre section
of a former dairy farm in 1999. It is located in the historic area of
old Town Hill in New Hartford, the foothills of scenic Litchfield County.
A new tasting room was opened in 2004 in a restored Arts & Crafts
Creamery that was built in 1903 for making butter.
The
Tasting Room & Gallery:
There is an eighteen foot wine bar for wine tasting. Sunday
sales are permitted. The size and atmosphere of the new tasting area
is perfect for a private tasting for your group’s outing. It is
a great place to hold a rehearsal party, a small intimate wedding, a
business reception, and private dinner parties. Events contact: jerramfarm@hotmail.com
The
Wine:
White Frost Chardonnay, Seyval Blanc, Gentle Shepherd and Aurora, both
white blends, S’il Vous Plait Cabernet Franc, Highland Reserve
red, Marechal Foch, Nor'easter, a semi-sweet red blend, Vespers, an
after dinner sweet white and Our Sweet Rose, a lightly sweet Rose'.
Special
Features :
There is a deck to sit outside in warm weather and enjoy a picnic lunch
with a bottle of wine. Daylily and shade plantings fill the gardens
in summer. Sales of field grown plants and peak bloom time begin in
mid June. Artist opening receptions in the Gallery are free and open
to all. Professionally trained personnel always serve at private events.
Tours of the wine processing area are available by appt.
