Mother’s Day 2017 Specials: How to wow mom

Three generations of women enjoy glasses of wine and food at an outdoor picnic setting

Reminder: Mother’s Day is on Sunday May 14! You know… that day when you treated mom to breakfast in bed as a kid, or send her a gushy card with a tiny gift box full of… wait.  What do you get for a mom in 2017?  With all the “Best gifts for Mom’s” blogs and Pinterest boards, it’s getting hard to decide what memory foam slippers or handmade birthstone jewelry is right for your mom…am I right?  How do you “Wow” her?  Whether the mom in your life pretends to navigate a “choo-choo”spoon into her kid’s mouth, has seen her kids off to college, or anywhere else along the path of motherhood, the CT Wine Trail can help show her a wonderful time!

All weekend long, vineyards and wineries across the state are hosting budget-friendly special events for the foodie, the live music groupie, the lifelong learner, and the nature lover. Jump on the Trail for live music, Mother’s Day picnics (pre-order), chocolate and wine pairings, painting classes, self-guided vineyard tours and more. Plus, take advantage of special deals for Mom! Think: BOGO wine tastings. So go ahead and take mom to “taste the adventure” and make memories to last a lifetime!

Bonus – the Passport to CT Farm Wineries program starts May 5! Mother’s Day weekend is a great time to get 2 or 3…or maybe even 5 stamps taken care of! Each CT Wine Trail vineyard and winery has a unique atmosphere and wine styles.

Kayla Hedman

A Connecticut-native, Kayla recently moved back to southeastern CT from Burlington, VT. While in VT, she frequented local wineries, where a number of her friends worked as tasting room staff and event coordinators. She hardwired her palette and learned to appreciate wine for the sake of her friends. Unfortunately, after finding out she has an intolerance to gluten, Kayla stepped away from being a part-time representative for a brewery and grew to love wine even more. She works full-time as a brand manager at a marketing agency, and enjoys supporting local small businesses in her spare time.
