Hawk Ridge Winery is in Watertown, Connecticut on 58 acres of bucolic farmland overlooking the Litchfield Hills. The winery is owned and operated by longtime friends Deb and Vin Giannetto and Michele and Jack McHugh and is named after the red-tail hawks frequently seen soaring over the meadows. In 2013 the owners decided to plant grapevines to both preserve the farmland and honor their family traditions of winemaking, and the first vines were planted in the Spring of 2014. The 8 varietals of grapevines are now used in 11 of our 27 plus different wines made at Hawk Ridge Winery.
Our 5,500 sq ft winemaking and tasting room building is centered on the crest of a hill on our property overlooking the scenic Litchfield Hills. The beautiful post and beam tasting room opened in June of 2017 welcoming so many of our newly made friends and patrons. In the warmer months, if you choose the great outdoors to our air-conditioned tasting room, join your friends or family and sit at a table on our large deck or in an Adirondack chair on our expansive lawn. You may also choose to sit at a table under our large outdoor pavilion and listen to live music every Saturday and Sunday from mid-April through November. The music moves inside the tasting room in colder weather. With 58 acres, we always have room for you and your friends to relax and enjoy our wine and scenery.
Whatever your taste in wine, be it dry or sweet, red, white, or rose, you will find a wine to satisfy your liking here at Hawk Ridge. In addition to the wines, we also offer frozen wine slushies and locally-made beers. Our on-premise chef and scratch kitchen offers a large menu of food and appetizers, with ingredients sourced from our farm garden. We also welcome guests to bring their own picnics.
