What began in 1993 as a hobby quickly became a labor of love. Taylor Brooke Winery, established by Richard (Dick) and Linda Auger in 1999, started with 300 hand-planted vines. Fast forward and in June 2024, we celebrated our 20th anniversary of welcoming guests at our winery! Located in Scenic Northeast CT (better known to some as the Quiet Corner), on what was once one of the oldest and largest farms in town, we often hear from our guests that we are a hidden gem.
Currently, we create over 16 small-batch wines… dry, estate-grown whites and reds…fun, fruit-infused wines…a duo of dessert wines; wines for every occasion and palate. We are proud to say we were the first winery in the State of CT to produce a brandy made from 100% estate-grown wine; The Spirit of Woodstock (distilled by Westford Hill Distilleries). In July 2019, we opened our sister company; Taylor Brooke Brewery, located just down the hill from the winery, where live music and food trucks are featured most weekends for all guests to enjoy. Last year, we added our Craft Cocktail room at the winery where our winemaker, Nikki Auger, has put her spin on traditional cocktails using our wine and brandy in the recipes.
At Taylor Brooke, we are committed to sustainable agriculture and to using locally farmed and foraged ingredients in the production of our craft beverages. We aspire to be a gathering place where people can celebrate, relax, and connect. We create beverages and an environment that is fun, approachable, and where there is something for everyone whether it is at the winery or brewery. As a local business, we are supported by our community so it is vital that we show our support in return, by contributing charitably to organizations such as our local schools, fire departments, and non-profits and by serving on numerous community and state boards and commissions.
